While it’s not common, each month across Canada, renters default on their mini storage payments for a variety of reasons. If the account is not cleared up according to terms set out in our public storage rental agreement, the items in the unit become the property of Sentinel Self-Storage. These items are then sold at periodic self storage auctions.

Self-Storage Auctions – Treasures Untold

Storage auctions can provide an opportunity to purchase a large amount of items at a very reasonable price. Most units contain household goods – furniture, electronics, clothing, jewellery, etc. that can turn over a profit if sold at flea markets, garage sales or on eBay.

Since viewing may be limited or not allowed, purchasers assume the risk of finding treasures – or trash – buried within the boxes.
