Be a Savvy Storage User: What You “Auto” Know – The Essentials of Car Storage

It’s time to put away your prized car for the year and Sentinel has the perfect space for you.

Direct access, unheated storage units are mini garages ideal for storing your automobile this winter season.

We recommend our 10’ wide by 20’ long space.  However, he door opening is 8’ wide by 7’ high, so we do caution that some larger/taller vehicles may be too high or wide for some door openings. Smaller, mini cars like VW Beetles and Mini Coopers can fit into a 10’ wide by 15’ long space.

Accessing direct access storage units is very easy. Simply drive up to your own mini garage, open the steel roll up door and park your car inside. Close the door, place your own lock on the space (you keep the key) and, voila, secure and dry for the winter season! Access hours are from 6am -11pm, 365 days a year.

We do recommend that gas tanks be close to empty and batteries be disconnected (preferably removed). Some battery cells may be damaged in the extreme Canadian cold. Some of our customers cover their car, but while there may be some dust, it is not necessary. Also check with your insurance company as there may be considerable savings by removing some of the coverages while the car is in storage.

Select Sentinel locations offer a Winter Car Storage Special, with prices starting as low as $149/month. Several locations even have heated direct access units, at a slightly higher price. Contact us today!
