Sentinel Storage commemorates the National Capital Region

May 1, 2023

When you reflect on Ottawa and the National Capital Region, numerous impressions may arise.

Perhaps an image of the steadfast Parliament Buildings or the historic Parliament Hill emerges, symbolizing stability and heritage for all Canadians.

Maybe you envision the unadorned, innate beauty of the Ottawa River, whose rapids have facilitated the movement of goods and people for over a century.

Or you might visualize a frozen Rideau Canal, a canvas for families to skate upon and embrace winter uniquely as Canadians do.

Others think of the Tulips - a gift from the Netherlands that fostered a connection between our nations during World War Two. These tulips continue to embody that bond, a perpetual reminder that beauty and delight can emerge from the darkest hours.

The National Capital Commission undertakes the responsibility of ensuring that the Capital Region thrives, exuding beauty and welcoming all Canadians to partake in the celebrations. Sentinel Storage takes pride in watching its sister companies, Access Storage and Cubeit, aid the NCC in its important work at the Canadian Tulip Festival.

An instance of this collaboration is evident in the NCC Canadian Tulip Festival, where Access Storage and its partner company, Cubeit, specializing in Portable Storage, played a role. Here, the NCC functions as the official curator of the festival, crafting, planting, and nurturing all the tulips. This encompasses an impressive array of 100 tulip varieties across 120 beds spanning 30 sites.

Collectively, from late April to May, nearly one million tulips bloom in Ottawa and Gatineau, culminating in a breathtaking spectacle that has enchanted visitors for more than half a century.

Whether it's the Canadian Tulip Festival or any of the other splendid events orchestrated by the NCC annually, rest assured that as a Canadian, the Capital Region belongs to you, with the NCC perpetually dedicated to conserving Ottawa's remarkable natural treasures.
