GREAT WAYS TO MAXIMIZE THE STORAGE SPACE IN YOUR HOME

Renting a storage locker in the Parksville, Victoria, Kamloops, Coquitlam, Surrey, Langley, Vernon or Mission areas can be a great way to free up space in your home and allow you to live a clutter free life.  And there is no time better than the new year to do this.  The first step, is to figure out exactly what you want to keep in your home, what you want to transfer to your storage locker and finally what you can throw out or donate.

To keep yourself motivated you should begin in an area of the house that always frustrates you with how cluttered and overloaded it is. Our top pick for this is the closet, if you’re tired of constantly having to squeeze through multiple items of clothing that you haven’t worn in a decade, you should really consider purging your closet of unwanted items. To get started you need to have the right mindset.  Take a look at all of your clothes and think to yourself, “What would I not be seen wearing this weekend?”  Then all of those clothes can go to the personal storage locker if you are still too attached to them, or your Parksville, Victoria, Kamloops, Coquitlam, Surrey, Langley, Vernon or Mission recycling centre or donations bin.

Another tip for freeing up space in your closet is to think about the seasons.  Do you really need that summer dress taking up space in the middle of winter?  You can carefully place all of your summer clothes into a box and then put them into yo Parksville, Victoria, Kamloops, Coquitlam, Surrey, Langley, Vernon or Mission personal storage locker for the winter months.  If you are going to do this then it is crucial that you label this box clearly and take care not to bury it at the back of your locker.  After all, once the summer months hit, you will want to be able to pick this up and get those shorts on again.  Not only is this a great use of your storage locker, it can also be quite exciting, when spring starts up, you know it is time to pack up all of your heavy winter jackets and sweaters and say goodbye to them for a few months.

Now that you have cleaned out your closet and made a lot of space by transferring the unwanted clothes to your personal storage locker, you can move onto other areas of the house.

The kitchen is a great place to remove clutter, especially if you have lived in one place for a while.  You may find that if you really think about it, you have a lot of duplicate things buried at the back of your cupboards.  The usual suspects are pots and pans and cutlery.  If you don’t want to donate these items, then it is a good idea to put them in your storage locker.  After all, you are bound to have a son, daughter, niece or nephew that is moving out into their first place and in dire need of such things.

Next, you need to be very honest with yourself and the appliances you use.  Have you used that juicer in the past 6 months, or the grilled cheese maker?  If not you should think about placing them in your Parksville, Victoria, Kamloops, Coquitlam, Surrey, Langley, Vernon or Mission storage facility.
