Sentinel Storage stands to support important youth charity

Few things are as daunting as the fear of losing one's home.

Having a secure shelter is pivotal for nearly all facets of a healthy life. Without a place to call home, rest, nourishment, and protection become precarious. No one wishes to be without a residence.

This sentiment is particularly true when it comes to children. Childhood should ideally be a carefree time, where needs are met and worries are few. Yet, every year, numerous kids find themselves on the streets, often through no fault of their own.

Supporting and safeguarding these unhoused children is the mission of Toronto's Covenant House. They undertake this work remarkably, but it necessitates a collective effort to provide more assistance. One way we can contribute is by backing their fundraising initiatives, such as the Guts & Glory competition held each winter.

Sentinel Storage once again takes pride in its sister company, Access Storage, being a dedicated sponsor of this event. They offered not just financial support, but also assistance on the night by providing a coat check for participants throughout the night.

The event, as always, proved to be a vibrant and triumphant evening. During Guts & Glory, corporate teams engage in various athletic challenges, with points awarded to the highest achievers in each activity. It's all in good fun, yet most teams enthusiastically participate, hoping their company will shine with the utmost glory that night.

As for who truly displays the most guts, there's no contest. It's the kids who must endure the harsh realities of street life every night. The aspiration is that through events like this, their bravery will no longer be a necessity, allowing them to reclaim their childhood without the burdens they face.

Now, that would be a genuine and lasting glory.
